9:00am to 12:30pm Monday to Friday

Non ECCE children €12.50/day

Information for Parents

The childcare provider is paid €62.50/week to provide each free place.

Staff Qualifications

All staff working with children in early year’s services will have to have a minimum Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework qualification in early years care and education, or an equivalent qualification by September 2015.

In addition, by September 2015, Preschool Leaders delivering the free Pre-School Year programme will have to have a minimum Level 6 qualification, or equivalent.

Settling-In Period

A “Settling-In Period” is allowed at the beginning of each contract period. During this period a parent may remove his/her child from a service and either defer the place to the following year or transfer the child to a different service provider.

Associated documentation must be completed, signed and dated by all parties. The Settling-In Period covers the first four weeks of the September term only.

Children with Special Needs

Parents who wish to apply for a waiver of the upper age limit or to avail of the pre-school year on a pro-rata basis over two years, on the grounds that their child has special needs, must apply in writing to the Childcare Directorate not later than 1st July of each year.

Childcare Education and Training Support Programme (CETS)

If you are a parent and taking part in an eligible ETB/Solas course you can avail of the CETS programme.

What is CETS?

The purpose of the programme is to support parents on eligible training courses and eligible categories of parents returning to work, by providing subsidised childcare places. CETS is administered on behalf of the Department of Education.

Places can be full-time, part-time, after-school only or after-school with pick up places.ETB/Solas have sole responsibility for deciding who is eligible to avail of the CETS Programme.
